A Few Guidelines
 Properly
dressed gentlemen follow a few guidelines to make sure their
appearance is one of good taste.
The sleeve length of your coat should be just below your wrist
bone, thus allowing 1/4" to 1/2" of "linen" to show. (Please
note that when seated with your coat on, it is perfectly natural
to expose more of your shirt sleeve much in the same manner that
we all expose more of our socks when we sit down.)
Trousers should be worn on your natural waist in order to drape
properly, and the length should produce a slight break over the
shoe. I have found that, more often than not, gentlemen prefer
slightly longer length, which produces a somewhat heavier break
on the shoe. This also depends on the style of shoe; loafer v.
lace up.
Though your belt should match your shoes (brown shoes, brown
belt), braces may contrast with a splash of color, if desired. A
pocket square will also add a dash of color and personality to
your coat pocket. With these things in mind, you will look as
good as you feel!
